Three years ago, I entered a life cycle that we all have experienced at some point, called the "dark night of the soul." This type of cycle is when your ego and soul are conflicting, there is a part of you that cannot go back to your "old" way of being, but you are resistant to moving forward into the evolved version of yourself that your soul so desperately wants. It's a time when you feel pain and lost, not knowing who you are becoming or why these changes are taking place.
After having the fortunate luck of experiencing two of these cycles in my life so far, they are transformational if you choose to accept the gifts being presented to you in the midst of the challenge. It forces you to let go of what does not serve you anymore, grieve old wounds that are ready to be released, establish new boundaries, and walk the path your soul always wanted you to go.
I share this because, during this dark night of the soul journey, I felt really lonely. When I went for walks in the woods near my house, there was a specific tree with which I would talk and share all my worries, pain, and fear with. She felt old and very wise and would be the perfect listener for me. Whenever I went to her, I felt like a mother was holding me.
I can now say I have made it through that cycle, but I still visit her and update her on how far I have come. I share with her all my good news about the changes in my life and thank her for being there for me when I needed her. Even leaning up against her, I can feel the loving energy she has like I would if I were to hug another person.
If you feel lonely, find your tree, they are wise and will listen to you. We are never alone, and as I have mentioned before, we are all one in the world of spirit.
