When You Weather A Storm You Grow Deeper Roots

Updated: May 30, 2022

Some evidence has shown that trees grow deeper roots when they weather not just a storm but several. The soil becomes saturated to a deeper depth, encouraging the moisture seeking roots to reach further into the earth.

Like the trees we also grow in challenging times. When we are faced with hardship, we learn to expand our perception, just like the roots expand into the ground.

If we never experienced the “struggle” then we would handle situations as our young kindergarten selves. Could you imagine still acting like a kindergartener? You would not love as deeply, care as deeply, laugh as deeply, connect as deeply and see as deeply.

We cannot protect our children from facing the challenges they encounter because it is a beautiful gift to who they will one day become.

When we are going through a challenging time, ask yourself... What am I learning? How am I expanding into a deeper knowing like the trees?

And…

Remind yourself that every storm comes and goes, this too shall pass.
